Lomi Lomi Massage
Lomi Lomi uses long and sweeping strokes done with the hands and forearms, in a smooth rhythmic motion like long, rolling waves traveling along the body.
Gina Chubb – Lomi Lomi Massage
Lomi Lomi, (also know as Lomilomi) includes many techniques, some of which are similar to Swedish massage, while others are similar to Asian bodywork techniques.
Lomi Lomi also includes range-of-motion work, deep-tissue techniques and, most importantly, the full presence of connected touch. The object is to create balance in every cell of your body. The nervous system is encouraged to slow down, thereby creating the space for techniques to be received rather than pushing through a blockage in the muscle tissue.
Creating movement in the spine is a primary focus of Lomi Lomi.
Additionally, Lomi Lomi massage on the abdomen is usually emphasized to help the elimination process and improve the function of the organs. Your massage may also include a detoxification program and the use of herbal remedies may be encouraged.
When ready, I usually begin slowly working on your head. Performing long, flowing, and gentle movements with my forearms to create a soothing effect, I then proceed to work on your back and extremities. I may also spend time working on areas such as the ribs, chest, abdomen, and hips. Of course, your comfort is my primary concern and I will work to customize your experience based on your personal needs.
During your Lomi Lomi massage you will experience something magical. Beyond relaxation. You may even feel as if your body and mind transcend time and space. You completely relax and forget all of your worries. As your mind relaxes, so will your body. A professional, therapeutic Lomi Lomi massage is a very healing experience.
The rhythmic strokes over your body works to improve circulation, relieve muscle spasms, and increase the flow of nutrients to the muscles. These techniques also stimulate your lymphatic system to release toxins from your body.
“The way to health is to have an aromatic bath and a scented massage every day.”
